Great Eastern Highway – Tammin to Walgoolan

Project: Great Eastern Highway – Tammin to Walgoolan
Client: Main Roads Western Australia
Contractor: A-Line East Alliance (MRWA, Brierty Contractors,
BG&E and WML Consultants)

Design and construction for the upgrade, to National Highway Standard, of 56.6km of the Great Eastern Highway, which provides the major road connection between Western Australia and the Eastern States of Australia. The project was delivered using an Alliance Contract, with BG&E providing the design component of the Alliance.

Features:

  • Realignment of sections that had deficient horizontal alignment.
  • Widening of sections of highway that had deficient cross section width.
  • Overlay and pavement reconstruction of sections that had deficient pavement.
  • Refurbishment of deficient bridge guardrails.
  • Upgrade of transverse drainage culverts and table drains.
  • Preparation of land requirement plans.
  • Support for the Alliance Environmental and Community sections in the preparation of material for EIS and community liaison.
